Hey friends! I couldn’t wait to share a fun recap of our latest race: we did the Rev3 Adventure Outlaw Challenge this morning! Yep, just this morning. Didn’t want to wait too long to share this one, so here it is!

Not too many people showed up for this one – just about 10 people and 5 teams so it was very low key. This was our first adventure/scavenger hunt race of this kind for us. We have done a mud run before but haven’t done anything without a set course and that has checkpoints.

Looking over the map and check list to plan our route and plan of attack. We drove to Buffalo for the race, about 70 miles, and came in early to go over the map

We ended up running/walking about 6.5 miles during the event and our time was 1:33. Not super fast or anything, but really fun! we did everything as a team, it’s a fun way to spend time together as a couple! We basically went end to end in Buffalo starting in the middle so we had to double back.

I didn’t start tracking right away so there was a little more distance in there than 6.18

One of the tasks was to take photos of Craig Johnson’s books. Craig Johnson is a local Buffalo author who writes the Longmire series. This Friday is Longmire days in Buffalo, so they are getting ready for that.

The race was pretty cool since it incorporated local history in the checkpoints so it was a great way to learn about the town. We have always loved the town of Buffalo – lots of history there and it’s close to the mountains.

Finished up! We didn’t stick around too long since Zach had to go to work this afternoon

All in all we had a lot of fun! We got t-shirts, medals, and a box of Power Bars after we finished. I didn’t even realize we had gone 6 miles since we stopped at checkpoints and walked a little bit too.  The race organizers were really friendly and we stayed to chat with them for a bit. They talked about the other races in the series that we want to do next year in Casper. Looking forward to the Rev3 races for next year!
