If you have a friend or family member who’s a run addict, then you need to check out this gift guide! Here are 13 awesome gifts for runners
Hey friends, I’m back with another gift guide! Gift guides are pretty fun to put together: I can add my favorite things and then find some new goodies I must have while I’m at it! This gift guide is geared towards runners, but these gifts are great for anyone who enjoys working out.
These are one of the coolest things I have seen in awhile: Power Spurs lights for your shoes! I’m not sure how well they stay on (I haven’t tried them), but I would definitely try these! The company even makes lights for the handlebars of your bike as well
Racing and collecting race medals can get addicting! If racing is our thing, you can organize and proudly display your medals on these cool motivational running medal displays – pick your motivational or faith-based saying! There are plenty to choose from
If you like to carry stuff with you when you run (I always carry my phone!), then FlipBelt is a great thing to have! I use my FlipBelt all the time – it works great and the new versions have a key clip so you don’t lose it
If you happen to keep losing stuff out of your FlipBelt or like zippers on your running pack, then check out the SPI Belt. It has a nice zippered pocket so you won’t lose anything small and they come in different sizes and fun colors and patterns (I have a SPI belt too!)
This tri suit isn’t specifically for running, but since triathlons include running and these are so cool, I couldn’t skip adding these tri suits to the list! These Drone design tri suits by Epix Gear look like Star Wars storm trooper suits, and they have some other pretty cool designs too
I love to listen to music when I run (safely, of course!) and 90% of the time I listen to workout music I use RockMyRun. RockMyRun is a streaming workout music mixes with genres for everyone. And some really awesome mixes that I have fallen in love with.
I found this service a few years ago and use it for running and teaching my group fitness classes. It’s awesome!! Many of the mixes are free, but you can get premium mixes if you have a membership. I use it enough that I decided to buy a lifetime membership when it went on sale earlier this year. Boom!
If the idea of a chest strap is not appealing anymore but you want to keep tabs on your heart rate during your run, check out these Jabra bluetooth headsets with in-ear HRM. Yep, you read that right: in-ear heart rate monitors!! Plus they’re Bluetooth so you don’t have to worry about cords – sooo nice!
I recently became a Momentum Jewelry Ambassador and I love their products! They have these really neat tags for your shoes called Footnotes that some in different sayings. You can even get custom Footnotes. Momentum also has great necklaces and bracelets, too, that are comfy and motivational.
Now this is something that is on my list: a race number belt from Nathan! When I race I end up punching holes in my clothing with safety pins to hold my race number on, but I have found that this gets annoying and starts snagging my shirts and shorts. You can save your shirts and get one of these instead!
One of the most important things in running (for me, anyway) is cross-training! Strength training and flexibility exercises are crucial to preventing injury and staying limber. It’s also a good idea to do some single-leg exercises to improve running stability since you rarely have 2 feet on the ground during running workouts.
When the weather gets really bad, super-cold, and uber windy, you need a step up from a scarf and get a running balaclava. When winters get to be sub-zero and the snow flies, it’s a good idea to cover your nose and mouth as well to keep from frosting your lungs. This works for winter sports, too, like snowshoeing and skiing and not just for running.
And since this runner’s gift guide wouldn’t be complete without a funny shirt, here’s one that sums up my feelings about running some days
