Hey friends, I got back home IDEA World and Blogfest last Monday! I’ve been working on trying to get back into a routine so I didn’t get any recap posts up last week, so I’m posting them this week.

My family and I drove down from Wyoming to Las Vegas for the conference, and it was a loooooong drive (14+ hours), but we got it done and I learned some great things and connected with some amazing companies while we were down there.

The drive back home wasn’t too bad since we split it up in 2 days, staying over night in Utah. Audiobooks were definitely our saving grace during this trip. I think we all would have lost our minds if we didn’t have something entertaining to listen to! FYI, the audiobook for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is 17 hours long, perfect for those crazy long road trips.

We had some great sessions with Katy Widrick on reusing old content (something I’ve been working on for a little while now), Lindsay Valdez on important SEO elements, Amanda Vogel on making money at guest blogging, and an amazing keynote with always motivating Todd Durkin (I’ll post about his talk later this week!).

P.S. if you’re looking for some blogging and business resources, I created a page filled with my favorite blogging plugins and things!

There were a few workouts that I didn’t do since I’m still struggling with runner’s knee (ugh), so I didn’t do the Strong by Zumba workout led by Jeanette Jenkins, but I got plenty of photos and videos. Here’s a snippet of the Strong by Zumba workout below (it looked like so much fun!):

They did a little intro about the Strong by Zumba workouts and they actually reverse engineer the music to fit the workouts. Pretty cool! That also means your choreography needs to be spot on. Their music was great, though! Perfect workout music.

There were a few things I didn’t end up doing (like the modelFIT workout from Propel, and the blogger peer review), but I did get to connect with some great companies at Blogfest and at the expo as well. I’ll be working on getting some partnerships together with some of these brands, so stay tuned for more on that!

The Networking Happy Hour was our last Blogfest hurrah before we officially ended Blogfest and moved into the IDEA World sessions. We had a great time meeting new people and reconnecting with old friends. The California Fig Advisory Board had a beautiful spread of figs, cheeses, crackers, and almonds, it looked so nice!

I had such a great time visiting with people that I had met online and meeting some people that even lived not too far from me! Such a small world sometimes, I love it when that happens 🙂

La Croix made some delicious mocktails during the networking happy hour: 50% orange juice and 50% La Croix – so simple!

The expo was amazing as usual, lots to see and try out. I covered pretty much everything in 3 days very thoroughly I thought, but as it turned out I still missed going to a couple of booths that I was really wanting to visit (like Qalo).

I didn’t get any videos of some of the new equipment and workouts as much this time since I was really on a mission to do more brand connections during this trip. I was able to connect with some of my old favorites (like Daiya, Vital Proteins, and NOW Foods), and experience some amazing new companies that I fell in love with.

Since I’m in desperate need of some new workout clothes (seriously, some of my duds need tossed), I did a little bit of shopping at the prAna booth. They had a mini shop set up and marked everything down 50% (yay!!!), plus you got a cool bag and water bottle with your purchase. prAna did an AMAZING job at the expo this year.

The sponsors for Blogfest were so gracious this year with sponsoring the event and providing breakfast, snacks, and swag bags for the attendees. Between the swag bag and the expo, I came home with quite a bit of stuff! I was able to have a lot of it, and the things I couldn’t use I’m sharing with my yoga students this week.

You can check out all of the brands included in this photo (and some of the ones I missed adding) over on Instagram!

Overall, I had a great time at Blogfest! I’ll share some more about the IDEA World Sessions that I took in another post (so many great fitness sessions!!). Can’t wait to go again 🙂
