Ready for the New Year? Drop the resolutions and create a new health habit this January with the 30/31 fitness challenge!
Are you ready for the New Year? I am (sort of)! I am looking forward to a fresh year ahead, but I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions per se. I prefer to set goals throughout the year instead of making resolutions for the whole year. For January, my goal is to move for at least 30 minutes daily to create a healthy new habit. To stay accountable, I decided to turn my goal for January into a challenge so others can join in, too!
If you want to set aside the New Year’s resolutions and work to create a healthy habit, join my 30/31 Challenge on ChallengeLoop! The goal is simple: move for at least 30 minutes daily every day in January (31 days).
You get to choose how you want to move (Zumba, rock climbing, walking, yoga, hiking, weight lifting, CrossFit…whatever!) as long as you are moving for at least 30 minutes daily. I encourage you to choose activities that you love and enjoy, but I also want participants to be adventurous and find some new ways to move!
The challenge starts January 1st, but you can join any time. Keep track of everyone’s progress and share your activities with the hashtag #30in31
Did I mention that there will be prizes? The 30/31 Challenge is a prize challenge! If you participate in the challenge on ChallengeLoop by checking in with your activities and progress, you will be entered to win prizes each week from some amazing sponsors. Feel free to support these great companies by liking them on Facebook and following on Twitter: it’s not mandatory, but much appreciated!

Love this! I have been so busy with all the Holiday to do list I haven’t worked out in weeks. Hopefully all the grocery store trips added up to some form of exercise. I got back on track the day after Christmas, but this is a wonderful idea to help me stay motivated!
Sarah Jane
I would love to have you join the challenge! If you are close by we could even workout together sometime ๐

Wow great prizes there! I have to agree about the resolutions, too many people try to make these outlandish resolutions and can’t keep them up. Instead we should be making regular goals to achieve all year around! I think 30 minutes is a realistic goal for everyone! People think my training is an impossible level, but we all start somewhere, and can build up over time! This is a great place to start!
Hope you have lots of success in 2014!
Sarah Jane
So true, we all start somewhere! I need to get my fitness level back up to what it was this summer, and I’m hoping that people can create a new healthy habit through this challenge ๐

What a great challenge and pretty cool prizes too! I am doing the Running Streak till New Years, so I might as well start this challenge too!
Sarah Jane
The running streak sounds fun! How many days did you do that challenge?
Abby @ BackAtSquareZero
The idea of moving just 30 minutes a day is great because it is something so many people can participate in.
Sarah Jane
You are right, 30 minutes is so doable for anyone! Plus I need to get back into being more consistent with my exercise since I have been slacking off lately… ๐

This sounds like a really cool challenge! I might be joining up soon! I’ve loved doing the RW Run Streak because it keeps me accountable, so I know I need to do another challenge in 2014!
Sarah Jane
I would love to have you join the challenge! I will have to check out that running streak challenge, it sounds fun ๐
