If your kids love uncrustable sandwiches, here’s a way to make allergy friendly and healthier “uncrustable” style sandwiches at home
My post today is a quickie, with some rather sad looking photos! I took some quick photos of my experiment this morning while I was making up lunch boxes this morning. I was inspired to try this out when a reader suggested using a sandwich cutter on my gluten-free flatbread.
I wanted to make up some uncrustable-style sandwiches for my kids lunches today but didn’t have a sandwich cutter. Drinking glass = perfect!
I will try this on my gluten-free flatbread some time just to try it out, but in the mean time, I made this healthier version for my kids with 100% Whole-wheat bread, SunButter, and Polaner’s all-fruit preserves. Gabe and Nyah loved them!
While I am not a big fan of throwing bread away, it is a fun way to trim back on the amount of bread you use if you are looking to lower your starch intake. You could save those crusts in the freezer for Thanksgiving stuffing as well! You can get creative with this idea: what kids of fillings would you use?
