We’ve been busy here at The Fit Cookie! Check out some of my favorite new things and products we’re trying and loving these days!
This fit life round-up contains affiliate links for Onnit. I was provided free items from Blue Diamond, Onnit, NeoCell, and Influenster, but all opinions are my own 😉
Soooo many good things to share with you, that’s why it took me so long to get this post together! I had to pick and choose since there is a lot. Here are some of the things I have been trying and loving lately. A lot of these things are stuff I share on my Instagram account since I LOVE Instagram. And a small forewarning: some of the photos are blurry (one of my pet peeves), but hang in there!
First thing’s first: dessert…of course! Beer flavored jelly beans from Jelly Belly! Yep, they exist (and they don’t taste too bad if you like beer). Find them and try them just to say you did 😉
And I can’t wait!! IDEA World Convention and BlogFest are coming up in less than 2 weeks! So many awesome things to do and see: we’ll get to meet Lorna Jane Clarkson (the founder of Lorna Jane), work out with Under Armour and Shauna Harrison, meet the lovely Fit Approach founders Alyse and Jamie, finally meet the hilarious Gigi, and tons more fun stuff! I am really looking forward to this trip!! If you couldn’t tell by the number of exclamation marks in this paragraph (there are 6 – I’m counting, ha! Now 7).
One of my favorite snacks: Blue Diamond sent me a couple of their new honey flavors, the Honey Roasted Chipotle and the Honey Roasted Vanilla. Both are excellent flavors, but the vanilla is awesome! It makes a nice treat when you want something sweet but don’t want too much sugar. Super delicious! I definitely ate too many of these… 😉
My new favorite workout: PiYo! I started doing the DVD set several weeks ago and got certified a couple weeks ago and I love it! I did Lesson 34 for an hour this morning and had a nice calorie burn for a low-impact workout. It’s lower impact but high intensity, so I was breaking a good sweat
One of my new favorite songs: How I Feel by Flo Rida. Like a mash-up of swing and hip hop – it’s perfect. I want to do something with this for my Zumba class
Time for some headless selfies ;p I am NOT a selfie person, but I will want to share my shirts (not my face today – sorry!). Here are a couple of my new favorite shirts: the first tank is from Lorna Jane (I LOVE this one!), and the second one is from Under Armour, two of my favorite clothing companies
NeoCell sent me some of their new Beauty Infusion to try out and share. It is a combination of collagen, hyaluronic acid, biotin, and ALA for improving skin, hair and nails. I love the NeoCell collagen powder as a protein supplement to add a boost to my protein shakes, and this one is a nice fruity protein-boosted drink.
I can have this one too: this is free of soy, gluten, artificial ingredients, dairy, eggs, and cane sugar. Some people drink it straight and others blend it with fruit or frozen fruit. I haven’t blended mine with fruit yet, but this is pretty good as it is mixed with cold water. I do like to add a bit of vitamin C powder just to add some tartness since I like sweet & sour fruit drinks. I would like to try their other flavors!
We bought a new bike seat for my bike: the Women’s RX seat from Serfas. It’s so comfy! I still need to invest in some good padded bike shorts, though. Never wanted to get those but if I bike more then I need to get some!
I got a bunch of Onnit stuff to try! I am an Onnit affiliate, so they sent me some new things to try out and share. I loved their stuff! It tends to be a bit pricey, but they have coupon codes and sales, and you can get 10% off the supplements with my code, FitBetty10. Here’s the breakdown by product:
The Chocolate Hemp Force superfood protein powder was really good! There are hemp hearts in this, so I would blend them up in a NutriBullet or blender if you don’t like the little chunks, but otherwise it’s delicious! It is a very strong chocolate, so mix with the recommended amount of milk. Trust me – it tastes the best that way!
The Hemp Force bars are good (I tried the Vanilla Chai)! They are a bit oily from the hemp seeds, but it’s good fat. The flavor is delicious and makes a nice portable snack (I’m all about snacks)
This is Onnit’s Earth Grown Nutrients superfood/powerfood drink mix. It has loads of greens, probiotics (so don’t put this in hot water), antioxidant plant blends, detoxing herbs, and enzymes for digestion. This is berry flavored and is sweetened with Stevia. I like to mix this with other green powders or my hemp protein shakes since the spirulina in it is a bit strong, but this is a great overall health drink! Check this one out, there are tons of good things in this one
This is the New Mood supplement from Onnit that helps to promote relaxation and mood support. I did some reading on 5-HTP and decided to try half the dose (so just one capsule before bed) and it seemed to help me sleep better. I don’t have bad sleep, but I slept more soundly thanks to the L-trytophan and the tranquility herbs. I checked with my doctor specifically to see if this would counteract the medication I was on and she said it looked good!
The Warrior Bars are bison meat bars mixed with spices and dried fruit. These are made by the same people that make Tanka Bars in South Dakota, only these are a bigger in size. One of my favorite snacks! I love jerky bars like this, especially with dried fruit mixed in.
I also got my first Influenster box: the Go Vox Box packed with goodies for active people. Good stuff in there! I couldn’t use everything in the box, but I cold use some of it and shared the yogurt and whey protein powder with my husband
Coming up on my food blog: my foodie round-up featuring cricket powder bars and Fort Collins food!
