Take your personal health care up a notch! Here are 5 health mistakes women make, and how to fix them and reach your goals
Hey friends, I hope your week is going splendidly! This post is a fun one, I have a lot of cool products to share that I have tried out the past couple weeks and they are pretty amazing! I partnered with BabbleBoxx this month to chat about women’s health, including skin care, reproductive health, and stress management.
Since I started using these products, I began to think about my personal health habits (good and bad) and how they affect my wellbeing. Like how much water I drink each day, whether or not I’m washing my face like I should, and if I’m doing what I can to reduce stress in my life.
All of these daily habits have an impact on our health as women, and our health can have a direct impact on those we care for, like our children, spouses, and friends. If we don’t feel well, nothing seems to go right! It’s not selfish at all to take the time to take care of our bodies. Since it can be so easy to set our health on the back burner, here are 5 health mistakes that women make (and products to help!), along with a giveaway!
1. Not practicing stress management
Too much stress for anyone is not good. A little bit of it can be okay, but too much of it can be a real drag on your health. There are so many things out there now to be stressed about, so it takes intention to step away from stressful situations and calm your nerves for a bit.
If you need a little help keeping your stress levels under control, the Spire Wellness and Activity Tracker can be awesome! It not only monitors your activity and steps, but it also measures your breathing patterns and alerts you when you are entering a stressful state and need to stop and practice deep breathing exercises.
If you’re curious about how Spire works, you can read my blog post about it or check out their website for more details about the science behind their technology.

2. Using poor quality hair products
So most of us are guilty of this one time or another! Whether you’re on a tight budget or just aren’t concerned about your hair care, it’s easy to buy whatever is cheapest. But, if you want healthy hair, it’s definitely worth spending a little extra cash to buy a great brand.
If you want better hair care products, then check out Viviscal. The Viviscal company makes drug-free supplements for hair growth (Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow use it!), but they also make hair care products like shampoo and conditioner, for healthier hair and reduced hair fall.
I’ve been using the Viviscal Densifying Shampoo and Conditioner from my Babbleboxx for the past couple weeks and love it! I’ve noticed that I don’t have as much hair fall lately and the warm scent is awesome: it reminds me of cedar wood. The Viviscal Shampoo and conditioner have herbal extracts, vitamins, and minerals for improved hair health. I’m up for trying the supplements next!

3. Not following a good skincare routine
I am personally quite guilty of this one! I have a terrible time creating good habits, so sometimes I end up going to bed without washing my face, yikes! Not good at all. Every woman needs to have a basic skincare routine of cleansing and moisturizing, with extras like exfoliating, eye cream, and special weekly treatments like masks added in as needed.
My skin does so much better when I regularly wash and moisturize my face and don’t skip out on that important skincare routine. My skin is different than it was 10 years ago and it needs a little bit more TLC. I’m currently battling forehead wrinkles – nooooo!!
Since my moody skin is going between breakouts and new wrinkles, I was excited to try out the Derma E Firming DMAE Moisturizer and the Firming DMAE Eye Lift. The Firming DMAE Moisturizer supports collagen and elastin production, and antioxidant-rich alpha lipoic acid (ALA) and vitamin C-ester nourishes skin.
Since my skin isn’t getting any younger, I decided it was time to add an eye cream to my routine, which brings me to my next point…
4. Not using an eye cream
Also so very guilty of this one, too! I have never used an eye cream regularly until just a couple weeks ago, and I’ve decided it was time to start. I’ve just started to get wrinkles around my eyes as well, so I’m going to start taking better care of my eye area.
Along with the Derma E Firming Moisturizer, I got the Derma E Firming DMAE Eye Lift to try out. The Derma E Firming DMAE Eye Lift cream has goji berry glycopeptides, firming DMAE, hyaluronic acid, and more to help firm the skin around your eyes while still keeping the sensitive eye area from getting irritated.
So far both the Derma E Firming Moisturizer and the Firming DMAE Eye Lift have been working great! The eye cream isn’t sticky and it sits well under my powder makeup, and the moisturizer seems like it’s working well on my forehead wrinkles so far. I love that the Derma E brand is natural skincare that uses non-GMO materials, is sustainably sourced, and they use organic ingredients whenever possible.
Check out the Derma E website and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
5. Not preparing properly for intimacy
So I really haven’t gotten into too much regarding sexual health on my site, but it is something that is important for women’s health in general. And since I’m currently going through pelvic floor physical therapy, it’s also something that I believe is important for me personally as well.
Since I have struggled with interstitial cystitis and pelvic floor pain, intimacy is a topic that encompasses many health aspects for women: nutrition, allergies, stress, hormones, and many other things. Due to all of my health issues, preparing properly for intimacy both mentally and physically is super important for me, and this is true for many other women as well.
