I spent the weekend at FitSocial a fitness blogging and social media conference in Colorado. Check out our fitness excursions in Boulder!
Last week I spent some time in Boulder and Aurora, Colorado, at the FitSocial Conference fitness bloggers conference. Here are some highlights of the fitness.
I did take all of the photos with my iPhone, so they are rather small unfortunately. I wrote a post about the great food on my other site, The Fit Cookie, and shared a recipe from chef Paolo Neville from Bistro Elaia!
A quick plug for my FitSocial product sponsors:
I will admit, the part of the conference I was looking forward to the most was the hike! I love hiking and I haven’t made it up to the mountains much this summer to get out and about, so this was a welcome change of pace and I LOVED it!
On Thursday before the official start of the conference, we hiked Mount Sanitas just outside Boulder, which is a very popular hiking trail.
It was quite busy this day, especially since the weather was perfect and most of the other trails were still closed from the flooding. The hike was challenging and steep, and it was mostly stair-stepping on the way up (great glute workout!).
I didn’t get too many photos of the hike up or down since I was busy hiking, but I got some nice photos from the top and bottom of the hill.

On Friday evening, we did a HIIT class with Chris Freytag. Chris incorporated a warm up followed by 8 Tabata bouts of body-weight exercises. Talk about a butt-kicking workout!
I was dehydrated and started getting dizzy towards the end so I stopped after about 6 Tabata bouts and took some photos.
Wearing my Ellie Serenity capri while doing lunges (we did tons of lunges and lunge variations!).

When we got the the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center there were several great fitness classes to choose from on Saturday evening: Tabata Cycle, Zumba, and Barre.
I was having tummy troubles (darn IBS…) so I went for a walk on the treadmills and had a nice chat with Alexandra. Sunday morning they had a Pound class that sounded super fun, but again I was battling a headache and tummy issues so I opted to skip the class.
