What is the key to really enjoying your workouts? Having the right attitude about why you work out. Really think hard about what motivates you to put on your tennis shoes everyday: is it to keep up with someone? because you hate your body? Are you punishing yourself for eating too much?
The key to really sticking to a workout and enjoying it is learning to work out because you love your body and you want to take care of it, not because you hate it and are punishing it.
Sure, this is easier said than done, but this little idea can make a big difference in your outlook on exercise and nutrition in general.
Don’t force yourself to do workouts you hate because you are trying to compete with a rival. In the fitness world there will always be people who think you don’t do enough, and there will always be people who think you do too much.
You can’t make everyone happy: work out FOR YOU. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks: do what you love! Soon enough you will enjoy your workouts and learn to the body that carries you through those workouts!
Work out because you love your body and want to take care of it,
Not because you hate it and want to punish it.
