Brighten up any day with this delicious tropical Strawberry Guava Smoothie, it’s paleo, vegan, and has no added sugars

Well friends, it’s been a minute since I posted a smoothie recipe. Lately I’ve posted been some pretty decadent recipes thanks to the holidays, but we’re back to our regular mix of healthy recipes and dessert recipes for a while 🙂

The beautiful pink color of this Strawberry Guava Smoothie is perfect for Valentine’s Day coming up! It would make a great Valentine’s Day breakfast for kids along with our yummy Strawberry Chocolate Pancakes – pink pancakes and pink smoothies are perfect for V Day!
If you want to add some protein to this smoothie, you can mix in some vanilla protein powder or collagen powder for a protein boost. Just adjust the amount of coconut milk you add to get the thickness you want since some protein powders make smoothies thicker.

Using guava in smoothies
Even though guava is sometimes thought of as a summer fruit (at least I’ve always thought of it that way), it’s actually a year-round fruit (except for the months of May and June). Guava has multiple harvesting seasons, including a winter and early spring harvest, so these are a great seasonal fruit for during winter and early spring.

The guava we used for this recipe were not pink inside like some varieties, or our Strawberry Guava Smoothie would probably have been a brighter pink. But the fresh guava we found at our stores were still delicious even without the pink flesh inside!

For great flavored guava, look for fruit that is slightly soft. If they are hard and under-ripe, the flavor isn’t as good and they aren’t as easy to scoop the seeds out. Guava is a great addition to strawberry smoothies since it adds an amazing flavor if you have ripe fruit!
For this smoothie (or eating guava plain), you can choose to eat the whole thing seeds and all if you want. Or you can cut the guava in half and scoop out the seeds. Since I didn’t want the seeds to get in the way of my smoothie, I scooped the seeds out, but you can use the whole fruit and either strain out the seeds or just swallow them (don’t bother trying to chew them, they are pretty hard).

I just have prepared it using my newly purchased hand blender. It doesn’t take long to get. The taste is, right now I’m drinking, pretty yummy. This is the perfect recipe. Thanks for sharing pretty awesome stuff.

Thank you Noelle! This smoothie is a delicious one for sure 🙂
Guava is one of those fruits that I never think about, but I tried some guava sorbetto the other day, and oh my goodness it was good! So this smoothie really drew me in. Now I just have to find some guava at the store!
Guava has such a great flavor, kind of like how passion fruit has a unique flavor. I love it! I bet guava sorbetto would be SO yummy 🙂
Although I’m not quite ready to drink cold smoothies, this sounds delicious. I may be to make this soon!
This would definitely be a great smoothie to cool off with in the summer heat 🙂
Strawberry and guava sound awesome! I haven’t had anything guava-flavored in ages but I miss it. This sounds so refreshing!
