One thing I love about summer is the fresh, bright, and light foods that are so welcome this time of year! Fresh fruit salads, seasonal veggies, grilled seafood… it’s all delicious!

One of my goals this summer is to make more seasonal recipes for summertime, and I’ve been adding some bright and fresh recipes over the past few weeks, and it’s time for this beautiful Blackberry Kiwi Fruit Salad!

Our fruit salad has the perfect combination of flavors and colors for a stunning and simple side dish that goes great with every meal. It’s also dairy free, paleo, nut free, and top 8 allergen free!

Tips for making Blackberry Kiwi Fruit Salad

The colors and flavors of this delicious fruit salad go so well together, but if the seeds in blackberries are a no-go for you, you can make this summer salad without blackberries and use black or purple grapes instead to get a similar color scheme.

The recipe is written as-is with sweeter fruit, but if your fruit is a bit on the tart side, you can skip adding the lime juice and add another tablespoon of maple syrup.

Go with your tastes on this salad! If it seems too sweet, add a bit more lime juice, if it seems too tart, you can add a little more maple syrup or pineapple juice.

Can I make this fruit salad ahead of time?

This kiwi fruit salad is great made ahead of time and put in the fridge for later, but you won’t want to make this too far ahead of time. Cut fruit starts to soften and get mushy after a while, so make sure that you make this fresh, or only a couple hours ahead if needed.

If you need to make this fruit salad ahead, I’d recommend making it just a few hours ahead, but not longer than that. You probably won’t want to make this kiwi salad a full day ahead, for example.

  2. Loving this flavor combination and it would definitely be a favorite with my girls! Of course we have every berry in the house except blackberries, the only one we don’t pick this time of year. Will have to pick some up and make this soon!
