If you or your loved ones have food allergies, finding sweet treats for gift giving or the holidays can be challenging. We’re sharing some of our favorite allergy friendly products and companies that make fantastic candy gifts!
The holiday season is coming up fast, and if you or someone you love has food allergies, now is the perfect time to shop for treats for gifting and stocking stuffing.
While I am all about eating sugar in moderation, I also know that having sweets on occasion is a wonderful treat, especially if you’ve been going without treats for a while due to food allergies. Plus, it’s great to have options for kids for last minute holiday school parties or stocking stuffers.
Not all of these sweet treats in this gift guide are candy, but there are other non-candy sweet treats and drink mixes we’ve included here as well!
All of these treats (except for Avenue Sweets) are items that we have tried and personally recommend and love. They are high quality, great tasting, and are available either in stores or online, so they are accessible, too. Out of all of these, the Amore di Mona chocolates and caramels are probably my absolute favorite, they are superb.
When I originally posted this back in 2017, there were fewer candy companies that catered to the multiple food allergy crowd. But now there are even more treats and eats created just for people with more than 1 food allergy, so there are more than 10 treats in here and we’ll add new brands as we find them!
The candies and sweet treats in this post are perfect for things like Christmas stockings, Easter baskets, birthday gift bags, and whatever else you can dream up.
Some of these companies also have products specifically for gifting (like truffles in ribbon gift boxes) and holiday specialty items as well (like the NoWhey Chocolate advent calendars).

Allergy Friendly Sweet Food Gifts
Here are our favorite allergy friendly brands that make great food gifts for all occasions or just because!
Purdy's Chocolate has a line of vegan and plant based chocolates made with sustainable cocoa. Their collection includes candies like Hawaiian Black Salt Caramels and Mylk Chocolate Sweet Georgia Browns.
The Better Bites Bakery has some delicious and top 9 free sweet treats that are great for gifting! They offer cookie dough bites, cupcakes, cake bites, brownies, and chocolate cake. They sent us their 4 flavors of cookie dough bites and they are delicious!
No Whey Chocolate has great items for sweet food gifts! They always have fun seasonal treats, like Christmas advent calendars and Easter vegan cream eggs, but they sell out quickly sometimes so if you see something seasonal for sale, it's a good idea to get some before they sell out.
No Whey candies are top 9 free as well as vegan, kosher, and have no artificial colors or flavors.
Coconut Cloud makes some great cocoa mixes, creamers, and frappe mixes. We have tried their frozen frappe powder mixes and they are SO GOOD. Great options for stockings or just to have on hand during the holiday season!
Amore di Mona chocolates and caramels are so good! My sister bought me some for Christmas a few years ago, and I loved them. Their products are free of tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, dairy, egg, fish, and soy. They are 3rd party tested for allergens as well. Their chocolates are high quality and delicious, I highly recommend them!
Katz Gluten Free makes tons of allergy friendly treats like donuts, cupcakes, donut holes, their version of Twinkies, and more. They are often made with eggs, but they are all gluten free, dairy free, and made in nut free facilities.
That's It company, known for their fruit bars, also make chocolate truffles that are delicious! We've tried their fig and sea salt truffles and love them. If your family members aren't fans of figs or sea salt, they also have truffles made with dates or raisins. That's It products are made without the top 12 allergens!
Another one of my favorite dairy free treats is Cocomels coconut milk caramels. They are yummy and come in several flavors, the coffee flavors are my favorite. The chocolate covered caramels are delicious, but if you aren't a fan of chocolate, the regular caramels are awesome, too.
Their caramels are also great in recipes as well,. These are made in a facility with nuts so they are not suitable for people with severe nut allergies.
Gimbal’s candy makes some awesome jelly beans and licorice scottie dogs. I’ve tried their jelly beans and their scottie dogs. I love that Gimbal’s candy is top 8 allergen free, so my kids can enjoy this, too. They use real fruit juice, so their flavors are really good. My whole family loves their jelly beans, especially the heart shaped ones.
We have noticed that the texture of the jelly beans has changed over the past few years, I'm not sure if they changed their recipe at all. But we all agreed that the older recipe was better than their new recipe!
Avenue Sweets is another company that makes dairy free caramels (they make nut brittles as well). I haven’t tried these myself yet, but I found them online and added them to my list of things I want to order for the holidays. These are made in a facility with nuts, so they aren’t suitable for people with severe nut allergies.
We've tried the Cinnamon Caramel stroopwafels from Sweet Amsterdam and loved them! Stroopwafels were something that I missed a lot when I went dairy free, so I was excited to find that there was a company making some dairy free ones.
The Sweet Amsterdam stroopwafels are organic, low sugar, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, non-GMO, and Kosher! They do contain eggs.
One of the treats my kids really love are the SunButter candy cups from Free 2b. The SunCups used to have small amounts of dairy in them, but they are now made completely dairy free, which is awesome! They also have mint cups, mini cups, and baking morsels as well.
They are top 12 allergen free, so they are perfect for people with multiple food allergies, and they are delicious!
YumEarth has lots of different candies that are organic and natural versions of popular brands, like Giggles (like Skittles), and Chewys (like Starburst). We used their candy corn in our Halloween snack mix, and they have a lot of other options as well (their lollipops are delicious!).
YumEarth candies are allergy friendly and free of dyes, high fructose corn syrup, and are non-GMO.
Enjoy Life Foods makes great top 14 free chocolates and cookies that make great gifts! They also create seasonal mini chocolate bar bags for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas for festive gifting. we really like their ricemilk crunch mini chocolate bars!
If you happen to be sensitive to chocolate, then Missy J’s carob treats are a great option. I have tried many of their products, and I love the PB+J cups and their truffles.
They are lower in sugar than regular chocolates, they are vegan (no dairy!), gluten free, and are delicious. They are made with peanuts and tree nuts and made in a facility with nuts, so they aren’t suitable for people with severe nut allergies.
If you have IBS and are on a low FODMAP diet, you may need to be careful about eating too much carob at once since carob is higher FODMAP.
One of my favorite treats is Smashmallow Marshmallows! I found some at a local store a while ago and fell in love with them (their website is super fun, too). Their chocolate dipped flavors are great, too, and they have a new line of gummy candies (I haven't tried those yet).
These are made with natural ingredients, use organic sugar, and are gluten free and dairy free. So good! They make rice crispy treats as well but I haven’t tried those yet.
We noticed that Smashmallow has changed their ingredient lists and added cross contamination warnings for nuts, which they didn’t have before. Make sure to check the label before eating these!
Cella's chocolate cherries are made by the Tootsie company and are produced in a gluten free and peanut free facility and are a fun treat for the holidays. They still have milk in them and some soy lecithin, so make sure to read the labels.
These are peanut free, but I'm not sure about tree nuts, so if you have a severe tree nut allergy contact the company if you have any questions about tree nuts in their facility or avoid these ones.
