Today is National Peanut Butter Day! But if you have peanut allergies you aren’t celebrating this holiday like the average person. I personally love peanut butter (especially with chocolate), but both of my kids have peanut allergies so I don’t keep peanut anything around the house. Instead of National Peanut Butter Day, I decided to celebrate sunbutter!
In place of peanut butter recipes, here are 10 of my best sunbutter recipes that I have posted on The Fit Cookie and my fitness blog Fit Betty over the years. All of these recipes are also gluten free, dairy free, egg free, and soy free so anyone can have them!
You can replace peanut butter in just about any recipe with SunButter, just remember that the sunbutter sometimes turns things green when the pH changes (like when you add baking soda).
In addition to SunButter, you can also use other seed butters like pumpkin seed butter, tahini (sesame seed butter), or a seed blend like SuperButter (in the photo above). Enjoy!
